Challenge:
The challenge was to design four villa typologies based on the Salmani Architectural style, a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Najdi architecture. The design had to preserve and reflect the rich cultural, historical, and environmental identity of the region while addressing contemporary functional needs. The project needed to blend the essence of local architecture with modern living standards, creating a cohesive yet innovative design.

Approach:
The design approach centered on the Salmani Architectural style, which draws inspiration from the traditional Najdi architecture. This style reflects the cultural essence of the region and emphasizes the relationship between architecture and the environment. The design philosophy is based on creating spaces that resonate with the memory and spirit of the place while being adaptable to the needs of the present. The four villa typologies were developed with a modern interpretation of traditional forms, materials, and spatial arrangements, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Impact:
The project successfully blends the cultural legacy of Najdi architecture with the demands of modern living. By reinterpreting Salmani Architecture, the villas serve as a timeless representation of Saudi heritage while offering contemporary comforts. The design not only respects the past but also positions the villas as part of a forward-looking community, contributing to the preservation and evolution of local architectural traditions while providing a functional, high-quality living environment for residents.
