Challenge:
The villa for Prince Asem Bin Nayef needed to embody the essence of Levantine architecture while maintaining a distinct and contemporary identity. The challenge was to design a residence that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings, ensuring privacy, aesthetic richness, and spatial fluidity. Additionally, the project aimed to balance traditional architectural elements with a dynamic composition, creating a home that is both timeless and engaging.

Approach:
The design by Dar Al Omran - Rasem Badran (DAO-Badran) was inspired by the rich architectural language of the Levant, incorporating local stone materials, earthy textures, and organic spatial arrangements. The villa was strategically rotated, introducing graded walls that enhanced visual dynamism and spatial depth. The enveloping stone wall not only defined the villa’s presence but also provided thermal insulation and a sense of enclosure. A significant focus was placed on integrating greenery, with trees, bushes, planters, and flower boxes carefully woven into the architecture, ensuring that the built and natural elements coexisted harmoniously. This approach created an environment that felt both rooted in tradition and effortlessly connected to nature.

Impact:
The residence stands as a refined architectural expression of Levantine heritage, offering a unique blend of warmth, privacy, and openness. Through its dynamic articulation, earthy materials, and lush greenery, the villa has established itself as a landmark of residential elegance in Amman. The project demonstrates the enduring relevance of traditional design principles, ensuring that heritage and contemporary living are seamlessly intertwined in a home that is both functional and poetic.
